Represented Artist

Daria Deshuk (1956–2017) was a New York-based figurative painter whose work was rooted equally in formal rigor and emotional weight.

Trained under Larry Rivers and holding a graduate degree from Hunter College, she built her most important body of work in downtown Manhattan, capturing the city's streets and inner life before gentrification erased the world she knew.  A second major vein of her practice drew on sacred and mythological narrative, rendering women not as passive subjects but as figures of agency and metaphysical consequence. 

She showed in significant group exhibitions on the East End of Long Island in the mid-1990s, where she was a genuine presence in that community.  Her archive is now being documented and cataloged for the first time by her son,
